When your DD needs some loving! Well the rotors on my 2001 Mazda Protege MP3 and brakes decided to take a dump on me. So I spent some of my birthday money buying rotors and pads for it. First time I have done the brakes on the "bee". It was a learning experience for sure. Thanks to Glenn and Starkey for helping me. The brakes and rotors were the easy part. Next was the struts, Oh the wonderful struts! Second time I have replaced them since I bought the car. It was strange, I had more trouble getting the struts on this time than before. I had the car on a lift with all the tools I needed and it was harder than doing it in my driveway. Had a little help from Starkey and Brittany. Thanks! Got it all back together and guess what? It still rubs! So time for a whole new setup with coilovers and better bushings.
One other thing that's been on my mind is to sell my 91 Fox Body Mustang. Well I decided to keep it and turn it into my project car. Not just any project car, but a 5.0 HO drift machine. Something very few people have done. So I just need to get it inspected and see if Nutter and Starkey will let me bring it down to school, Vaugh Gittin Jr. is the only one I know of to build a drift car out of a fox body.

When you thought you lost someone close to you!!
It's never fun witnessing a wreck. What makes it even scarier is when it's a close friend! Scratch that he isn't a friend he's family!
I have been staying the night at my friends house (Dick) the last couple of weekends to help him do a head gasket on a Jetta. So there we are working on the Jetta in the freezing cold (seems like a common thing) when we come to a stand still. First the KO3 turbo gasket is being a total nuisance and also a rubber T broke that holds the PCV valve in it. So there we are like "Well shit" what we do. We decide to go in town and get propane for the house and stop at some auto parts stores to see if they had the part or we could rig something up. Nothing at the part stores so we head back home. Once we got home we unloaded the propane and hooked it up. Then the snow comes down so we go inside, do some homework and play some games then hit the hay.
So we wake up get ready for school, Dick packs his clothes so he has something to wear when he comes over to my apartment. So there we are driving down Route 77, weather isn't to bad. I was behind Dick in the Japanese Ford just burning some rice right behind him. We go to pass this stupid car that keeps slowing down and speeding up. Dicks up front when all of a sudden his rear end kicks out sideways. The only that went through my head is please pull out of that slide. Then BOOM! he hits the hill and rolls his truck a couple times. I freak out a little and pull off the highway a little ways down and start running towards the truck thinking that he is hurt or worse. I run up to the truck one guy is trying to pull the doors open then I hear Dick say "Jacob call my mom" So Dick climbs out the window and I make sure he is alright. Then he calls his mom. After we are sitting there for awhile another car hits the same spot of black ice and rear ends a DOT car then the DOT car hits another then that one taps Dicks truck.
Everyone was ok and we all made it to where we were supposed to be, me a little late to school and Dick went to the hospital. Thank God he was ok, just sore and some cuts.
This one one of my scariest moments watching a friend wreck like that and I'm glad he is ok.
